Rock Side Camp ex Westermann Camp Rock Side Camp was established as an hotel in 1986 by Mark & Nana Tozer. Before it was known as a Hunters Camp, a tented base for hunting safaris. When the Tozers took over, they rebuilt the camp and replaced the tents with 16 cosy wooden bandas and 7 new luxury bungalows all with en suite facilities! Rock Side Camp offers you a choice of activities; start by climbing the Kopje, a walk in the bush, or for those who enjoy bird watching, there have been 84 species spotted in one single morning. We highly recommend our breath-taking guided hiking trips up the 7.900 feet high mount Kasigao, with it's unique flora and fauna. After your chosen activities you can relax by the pool or at the bar, and in the evenings watch the most sensational sunset. Don't forget to order a Rockside Sunset cocktail. The Tozers live at the camp on a permanent basis, and over the years, they and their team have done their best in making Rock Side Camp a home in the bush for all our guests to enjoy. We recommend this camp for all guests who start their safari directly from the airport and like to relax one or two days before they go for game drive! Rock Side Camp is even a beautiful place for an stopover, if you are on the way from Nairobi to Mombasa!
